BANGALORE: Tilaknagar police arrested Govind, 35, R K Kishore, 24, G Muthuraj, 38, and S Ramaurthy, 37, for robbing people after offering them a lift and recovered property worth Rs 4 lakh from them.
Once victims got into their vehicle, they'd drive to an isolated place and rob them at knife-point. With their arrest, two chain-snatchings, two burglaries and one theft were solved.
In another case, robbers adopted a different strategy.
They'd chase and stop a motorist, pick a fight by claiming that he had run over their friend, take him to an isolated place and rob him at knife-point.
Tilaknagar put an end to this trick of Charles Bhagyaraj alias Charles and friends. Charles' associates Nayaz and Gauresh are absconding. Police recovered property worth Rs 7 lakh, including 333gm of gold, mobiles phones and a motorcycle.
