Two plays in Hindi directed by M S Sathyu will be staged in the city - `Girija ke Sapne', a play by Mumbai-based Indian People's Theatre Association and `Dara Shikoh'.

Bangalore: There is reason for theatre lovers to cheer. Two plays in Hindi directed by M S Sathyu will be staged in the city. `Girija ke Sapne', a play by Mumbai-based Indian People's Theatre Association and `Dara Shikoh', another play by New Delhi-based Impresario Asia, will be staged at Ranga Shankara on November 15 and 16.
`Girija Ke Sapne' will be staged as part of a special show at Seva Sadan.

It tells the story of farmer suicides in India. It is written by B Suresh and translated by Saileja. Music is by Kuldeep Singh.
The other play, `Dara Shikoh', is based on the Mughal empire. The play is written by Danish Iqbal and music composed by Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan. Choreography is done by Rani Khanum.
Sathyu said all preparations are in place to stage the two plays in Bangalore for the first time. On his movies, he said his latest Kannada film `Ijjodu' is almost ready and will be released in January.
