Tension over compensation for murdered youth

MYSORE: Tension prevailed for a while at the Krishnaraja Hospital morgue when relatives of Kumar Swamy along with other residents of K.G. Kopplu demanding compensation for the next of kin of the deceased on Wednesday.
Kumar Swamy was murdered on Sunday night and his body dumped in Vokkaligara Sangha premises in Kantharaja Urs road. His body was recovered on Tuesday night.After the recovery of the body, residents of K.G. Kopplu staged a road blockade for more than three hours. On Wednesday when post-mortem was being done, protestors again demanded compensation.
Police have arrested Mahadev, a friend of Kumar Swamy following the accused’s confession to the crime. Police said Mahadeva murdered the youth after a difference over a financial matter after a drink on Sunday. DCP Subramanya said the protesters were pacified following police intervention. Later the body was cremated amidst tight security.
