Technician held for sexual harassment

Bengaluru: A 25-year-old lab technician with Victoria Hospital has been arrested on charges of sexually harassing a 19-year-old patient inside the scanning room of the hospital on Friday. According to police, the accused technician is identified as Sundar, a resident of Yelechenahalli on Kanakapura Road and hailing from Kirugavalu in Mandya. He touched the patient inappropriately and the woman complained to the hospital doctor and then to VV Puram police. Sundar was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) and 354A (sexual harassment). A bachelor, Sundar has been handed over to judicial custody at Bengaluru Central Prison.It may be recalled that in a similar incident, a 23-year-old lab technician, Ashok Roy, was arrested and sent to judicial custody for sexually harassing a 60-year-old woman patient inside the scanning room of a private hospital in Hebbal in the wee hours of September 5.
