‘Taala Tamate’ on Sept 16-17
Bengaluru: ‘Taala Tamate’, a choreographed piece, will be performed at Bangalore Creative Circus and Shoonya Centre on September 16 and 17, respectively. ‘Taala Tamate’ is based on Tamate (also known as Parai), one of the oldest instruments in India. Despite its rich history, this instrument has been looked down upon and given a lower place in the hierarchy of music and art, experts say. The performance seeks bring it back into the spotlight. tnn
