BENGALURU: A 21-year-old final-year computer science student from a private engineering college near Kumbalagodu on Mysuru Road was arrested Friday afternoon on the charges of recording inside a women's toilet using his mobile phone.
The accused Kushal Gowda is a resident of Chikkagollarahatti, Magadi Road. Investigation revealed that Kushal was hiding inside the ladies' toilet and had placed his mobile phone in the gap between the walls of the adjacent toilets. There are seven rooms for ladies, each with a ventilator in the wall between them. "Kushal was caught red-handed in the act. A girl, who entered the toilet, noticed the mobile phone placed in the ventilator and raised an alarm. She quickly came out and locked the adjacent toilet from outside. Later, others came and dragged Kushal outside and locked him inside the principal's chamber. After receiving a complaint from the college management, we arrested him and seized the mobile phone," an officer said.
When checked, Kushal had recorded for nearly 15 minutes. Police added: "The management too should be blamed. The CCTVs installed near the women's toilets are not working. Also, the management has not bothered to deploy a woman attendant near the toilet," police said.
