SSLC & II PU exam preparation in full swing in schools
Bengaluru: Around 9 lakh students will appear for SSLC and 7.1 lakh for II PU exam this year, which will be held from March 18 and Feb 28, respectively. For the first time, the department of school education and literacy announced the result dates in advance. The results are likely to be announced on April 24 for SSLC and April 7 for II PU.On Tuesday, a review meeting was held with several departments involved in the process. "We are set for the exams. We request students to come for the exams confident and stress-free," said Madhu Bangarappa, minister.
Final admit cards for the II PUC examination are available. Those for the SSLC examination will be issued in the first week of March.Webcasting, which was introduced in 2024, will continue under the leadership of the district commissioners. On examination days, a 200-metre area around the examination centres will be declared a restricted area. Xerox/Cyber/Computer centres will be closed in the restricted area. "We took all precautionary measures to prevent rumours about question paper leaks. Action will be initiated against those spreading false information and misleading students. I request students to stay away from social media during exams," the minister said.Exam preparation is in full swing in schools. Blueprints, model question papers, question paper banks, previous year question papers along with key answers, and centum papers are available. Parents' meetings are held to inform parents about the learning progress of students. Students appearing for the exams are allowed free bus travel upon showing their admit card. The minister requested private bus operators to chip in, if needed. This considers the lack of KSRTC buses in the Karavali and Malenadu region. District commissioners were asked to make necessary travel arrangements for students travelling from faraway places during exams. This year, the issue of unrecognised schools will not arise, said the minister, as the deadline for schools to renew the recognition was extended until March 31. Hence, the recognition from the previous year will be considered for permitting students to write the exam.In II PU, the highest number of candidates registered are from science (2.9 lakh), followed by 2.1 lakh in commerce. The number of students in the arts stream is 1.42 lakh. "Enrolment for the arts stream is reducing. Hence, we decided to increase the science and commerce sections at govt colleges," he said.Blurb: The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board set up a helpline for exam-related stress.
