NEW DELHI: Police detained six Bangladeshi citizens in Chitradurga on Monday who were found working illegally at two garment factories.
The arrested foreign nationals were identified as Sheikh Shaipur Rahman, Mohammod Suman Husen Ali, Majharual Maruf, Azizul Shaikh, Mohammod Sadiq Sikdar, and Sanowar Hussain.

The individuals secured employment at Arvind Garments and White Wash Garments on Holalakere Road using fraudulent documentation.


The arrests occurred during a routine patrol near garment factories on Holalkere Road, according to an official police statement. The police discovered the individuals were Bangladeshi citizens after questioning them and inspecting their documents.

"They illegally infiltrated into India several years ago with the intention of settling here. Initially entering through Bengal, they procured fake Aadhar cards and other documents in Kolkata and were working in various states in the nation to sustain their livelihood," said police.

The police statement said, "Upon interrogation and verification of documents found with them, it was discovered that the said individuals were citizens of Bangladesh. They had illegally infiltrated into India several years ago with the intention of settling here."

The statement continued, explaining the individuals entered India through West Bengal and obtained fake identification documents in Kolkata. They have been working in various states since their arrival.

The police seized fake Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, labor cards, bank passbooks, PAN cards, and one passport. Legal proceedings have been initiated.

This incident follows the Enforcement Directorate's recent arrest of several individuals, including Bangladeshi nationals, for alleged involvement in human trafficking and facilitating illegal entry into India.
