Chief minister Siddaramaiah Saturday demanded the resignation of PM Narendra Modi over the latest increase in domestic LPG cylinder refill prices, alleging the hike stemmed from flawed foreign policy decisions of the Union govt. In a post on X, Siddaramaiah said the price rise would further strain household budgets already hit by inflation. "The latest increase in LPG cylinder prices is deeply concerning for millions of households," he said. IT-BT minister Priyank Kharge Saturday criticised the Union govt's foreign policy, alleging India's global standing was being compromised and the Centre had failed to firmly respond to remarks by senior US officials on India's economic and energy policies. Priyank, son of AICC chief Mallikarjuna Kharge referred to reported comments by US deputy secretary Christopher Landau and US treasury secretary Scott Bessent on India's crude oil imports from Russia amid the war in West Asia.
