BANGALORE: Even as BBMP contemplates over the technical feasibility of having a steel or metal bridge on stilt between Minerva and Hudson Circle, it has gone forward to announce one more such flyover at Shivananda Circle.
During the inspection on Wednesday, chairman of BBMP standing committee on major works, H Ravindra, announced that a four-lane steel bridge will be built at a cost of Rs17.5 crore to ease traffic congestion at Shivananda Circle.
The planned four-lane bridge will be 16m wide and 310m in length. It will connect commuters from Race Course Road towards Harikrishna Road and Sheshadripuram Railway Under bridge. The committee said, that this will be the first such undertaking in the country and a detailed project report on the project has already been completed.
Further, the committee plans to construct a multi-level parking facility at the vacant site next to Freedom Park for the benefit of public visiting central business district.
The committee has also decided to construct an automated multilevel car parking for 250-300 cars at Anand Rao Circle, near Maurya Hotel.
