Sexual harassment case filed against BJP leader

Belagavi: A woman has registered a police complaint against BJP office-bearer Prithvi Singh for allegedly blackmailing, sexually harassing, and torturing her. The case has been registered against Prithvi Singh and his son Jasveer Singh at Khade Bazar Police Station.
A few days ago, the woman had attempted to die by suicide by consuming poison, accusing her husband and father-in-law of harassing her for dowry.After recovering at a hospital, the woman gave a contrary statement to police, accusing the BJP SC Morcha leader of being responsible for the police complaint against her husband and father-in-law. She claimed that Prithvi Singh and his son kept her under house arrest and tortured her.
She said the accused falsely implicated her husband and father-in-law in a police case by blackmailing and torturing her. The woman told police during the inquiry that she was poisoned by both the accused. Khade Bazar police said an investigation is underway.
Last year, Prithvi Singh had registered a complaint against Congress MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, brother of women and child welfare minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, alleging his involvement in an attack against him.
