Seized cash was on way to AP minister?
HYDERABAD: The CBI is investigating whether the Rs 5 crore seized from two persons near Guntakal on Thursday was meant for a minister in the Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
CBI sources said the arrested — Eashwar Reddy and Venkatrami Reddy — told police that they were directed to hand over the cash to a ruling party MLA from Ranga Reddy district from whom it was expected to reach the minister.

Both Eashwar Reddy and Venkatram Reddy are said to be close confidants of OMC owner Gali Janardhana Reddy.
“We are disturbed over reports that a Ranga Reddy MLA was involved in transportation of cash. The CBI should thoroughly investigate the case as there are reports of the involvement of a minister as well,” Ranga Reddy district Congress MLAs K Laxma Reddy and Prasad Kumar told TOI.
CBI sources said Janardhana Reddy visited the minister’s residence twice in 2006 and 2007 and continued to maintain cordial relations. Sources said the CBI is also examining if there is any business link between Gali and the minister as the son of the minister had maintained an office in Bangalore for which the OMC chief allegedly provided support.
Meanwhile, Guntakal police handed over the money to the CBI and the team reached Hyderabad on Friday evening.
