Karnataka seer breaks ‘maun vrat’, heads to polling booth
BENGALURU: Breaking a ‘maun vrat’ (vow of silence) which he observes every Tuesday, Abhinava Gavi Siddehwara Swami, pontiff of the famous Gavisiddeshwara Mutt in Koppal, cast his vote during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.
The seer rarely ventures out of the mutt on Tuesdays.
However, May 7 was different as the pontiff left the mutt to vote at Kuvempu Nagar polling booth in Koppal. He also greeted citizens and devotees who were present at the booth.
