Bengaluru: A trivial fight between two chefs over a vegetable-cutting knife ended in the murder of one of them at a hotel in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Monday.
The accused is Aryan Pushkar, 20, a resident of RR Nagar, while the deceased was Milan Baral, 25, who lived in the same area. Police said the incident was reported around 1.30pm at Royal Andhra Spice (OSR Hotels) in BEML Layout, 5th Stage.
Pushkar had reportedly taken a knife used by
Baral
to cut vegetables in the kitchen. Baral objected to it and the duo began trading blows. However, things went out of control when Pushkar allegedly stabbed Baral under the chest using the same knife. Hotel staffers rushed him to hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.
The hotel staff informed police, who arrested Pushkar on murder charges. The sudden incident on a busy afternoon left several customers and staffers shocked. Sources revealed Baral had been working at the hotel for about six months, while Pushkar joined them only three days ago. “Both were staying in a room on the hotel premises,” a staffer told TOI.
