BENGALURU: Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz on Sunday said that SAP Labs India is crucial to fuel the partnership of Germany and India in digitalisation.
Bengaluru has set an example in the field of digitalisation, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, he said, on his visit to SAP Labs India here.
During the two-hour visit, Scholz congratulated SAP Labs India on completing 25 years of building breakthrough innovations for SAP's half-a-million customers worldwide.

The chancellor experienced demos in the areas of digitalisation, sustainability, digital supply chain, e-mobility and human capital engagement. He also gained cognisance of SAP Labs India's undertaking in the fields of new technologies, upskilling, sustainability, climate change and networked enterprises.
Scholz said, "The work SAP is doing there and worldwide is crucial for Germany and India's future in the field of digitalisation, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. India, especially Bengaluru, has set an example in these fields. The fact that Germany's biggest digital company is succeeding in India with Indian expertise and ingenuity is a great example of the living bridge between our two countries." He was hosted by Christian Klein, CEO and executive board member, SAP, and Sindhu Gangadharan, SVP & MD, SAP Labs India and head, SAP User Enablement.
Klein, who is on a short visit to India, said, "It was an honour to have the chancellor visit the Bengaluru campus. SAP Labs India is among our top R&D hubs, fuelling SAP's transformation in the cloud in one of the world's fastest growing regions. As a strategic location for nurturing growth of skilled tech talent, SAP Labs India is helping drive the move towards a knowledge-based economy. SAP's growth journey here is a testament to the strong relationship between the technology ecosystems of India and Germany."

Gangadharan termed Scholz's visit a historic moment as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of building breakthrough innovations."SAP Labs India is in a unique position to address the challenges of supply chain resiliency and enable every organisation and industry to become a network of intelligent, sustainable enterprises. Visit to SUN Mobility's facility
Scholz visited SUN Mobility's development and manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, and interacted with company's co-founder & chairman Chetan Maini. German automotive major Bosch has a 20% stake in SUN, which has developed a battery swapping platform that allows commercial two-and-three wheeled electric vehicles to swap their batteries in an instant. He also visited the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium where he interacted with members of Royal Challengers Bengaluru women's team. Among those Scholz met was KSCA president Raghuram Bhat.
