BANGALORE: Tearful eyes, choked voices, the tragedy yet to sink in. Expression through words was impossible.
None of those gathered on Tuesday to condole the death of Vishnuvardhan seemed to have come to terms with it.
The meeting organized by the film industry associations also condoled the death of singer C Ashwath, film producer Chandulal Jain and Circus Boranna.
“I am not ready to accept he’s dead. I didn’t want to come here. I came only to thank the government for its support during his last rites,’’ said Ambareesh, his best friend.
Vishnuvardhan’s friend of four decades, Rajendra Singh Babu, said: “I interact with him through dreams.’’ Veteran actor Leelavati broke down on stage: “He was my elder son. He had saved my life 20 years ago.’’
CM B S Yeddyurappa, opposition leader Siddaramaiah and minister Katta Subramanya Naidu expressed their respect for the actor. The CM assured all assistance for the film city in the name of Rajkumar and Vishnuvardhan.
