BANGALORE: Sri Sai Spiritual Centre, as part of the conclusion of its golden jubilee celebrations, will organise a public meeting on April 3 in which former Chief Justice of India M.N. Venkatachalaiah will be the chief guest and former Karnataka DGP, B.N. Garudachar will participate. A golden jubilee souvenir will also be brought out on the occasion.
Jagadguru Sri Vidyabhinava Vidyaranya Bharati Mahaswami will inaugurate the programmes on March 29 at 6.30 pm at the centre’s Thyagarajanagar temple complex.
The Sai Spiritual Centre has instituted the golden jubilee rolling trophy for educational institutions, and the Sri Saipadananda memorial endowment lecture at the Indian Institute of World Culture.
The centre houses the idols of Shirdi Sai Baba, Sri Narasimha Swami and Sri Radhakrishna Swami. Apart from pujas, homas and other spiritual activities, equal emphasis is given to charitable work like feeding the poor, distribution of educational scholarships, holding medical camps, blood donation camps etc. The centre also runs free allopathic, ayurvedic and homoeopathic clinics with visiting specialists.
The centre is building another temple for Baba in Vasanthapura on the outskirts of the city, which already houses the ancient temple of Lord Srinivasa. The new temple is expected to be inaugurated in May-June. Ph 2676 6922.
