S B Biradar is new HDMC commissioner

HUBLI: The state government has posted KAS officer S B Biradar for the post of commissioner of the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation.
He will take charge on Tuesday, sources said. The post had fallen vacant after Naveen Raj Singh, an IAS officer, was transferred within seven months of his appointment.
Councillors had raised a campaign against him, as he had failed to deliver and crossed swords with his political bosses.The HDMC has a tradition of being managed by IAS officers and over the years, the practice was given up in favour of KAS officers.
