BANGALORE: Keeping in mind the need to improve basic amenities in Karnataka, the government has earmarked over Rs 20,000 crore across sectors to improve infrastructure, minister for finance, industry and infrastructure, P G R Sindhia, said here on Tuesday. Inaugurating Excon, a construction equipment and technology trade fair, Sindhia said a total of Rs 15,000 crore has been set aside for the power sector.
Among other developments, he said the state would enjoy the benefit of reduced repayment burden of Rs 550.11 crore between 2005-2010. This comes as a result of the Centre's acceptance of the recommendations made by the 12th Finance Commission on fiscal consolidation and elimination of revenue deficits.
