According to the police, the incident took place around 4.30pm Monday, near 13th Cross bus stand on Margosa Road in Malleswaram. Though the owner of the vehicle is yet to be traced, Vasundhara Das filed a complaint with police, with the registration number of the car as KA-05 AE-3933.
According to the complaint, Vasundhara had stopped her car at Bhashyam Circle as the traffic signal turned red. A Toyota Etios at the same signal was waiting to take a right turn. The vehicle was on her left side. When the signal light turned green, Das headed straight towards Malleswaram, which prevented the cab driver from taking a right turn. Offended, the driver followed Das, honking at her. As they reached Malleswaram 18th Cross Sampige Road signal, the cab driver got down and railed abuse at Das, asking her to get down from the vehicle. However, a panicky Das didn’t get down and drove ahead.
As soon as she reached 13th Cross, the cab driver, who was still following her, blocked her way again and abused her. Soon, vehicles started piling up and the driver fled the scene.
When TOI contacted Das, she said, “I filed a complaint and the law will take its course. I have narrated the entire incident to the cops and shared all details.”
She said that cases of road rage are increasing, and are a matter of concern as they result in ugly fights.
Police registered the case under IPC 509, 341, 354 and 504. A police officer said they have launched a manhunt.
