BANGALORE: It's been four days since 3-year-old Rihan of Madiwala has gone missing and police have no clues where he can be found. Madiwala police, who had picked up Noorjahan, his step grandmother for questioning, as there was a family dispute. However, police found no reason to believe that she had kidnapping the child.
Madiwala inspector M L Purushotham said Noorjahan worked for a food processing company on Hosur Road.
"She told us she was working in the factory on Tuesday, the day Rihan disappeared. We verified it with the factory attendance register," he said.
When police asked her why she was absconding for three days, Noorjahan said she was scared about being falsely implicated. "We found some discrepancy in the original complaint. We are checking that now," he said.
The missing boy
Noorjahan is the second wife of Rihan's grandfather but they're living separately. Both families had a dispute. On Tuesday, Rihan's father Siddiq lodged a complaint saying that Rihan was playing near the house and went missing. Initially, it was suspected that Rihan may have drowned in a storm water drain near the house. When he could not be found, Noorjahan came under the scanner.
