BANGALORE: Senior bureaucrat S V Ranganath is tipped to be the next chief secretary when incumbent Sudhakar Rao retires on Sept. 2.
A decision ratifying Ranganath���s appointment, now on deputation to the Centre, will be taken in the next cabinet meeting.
Sources said the CM was keen on his appointment. Ranganath is member (finance), Atomic Energy Commission in Mumbai.
Ranganath, 56, has worked with three ex-CMs. He was principal secretary to former S M Krishna for two years in 2001 and N Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy from 2004 to April 2006. He then went on central deputation.
