Rain halts Chennai trains
Several trains have been diverted towards Dharapuram, Dronachalam, Guntakal, Salem and Dharmavaram sections.
Several trains have been diverted towards Dharapuram, Dronachalam, Guntakal, Salem and Dharmavaram sections. Consequently, Tuesday saw a mad rush for tickets for KSRTC, TNSRTC and private bus services. KSRTC, which normally runs around 25 trips every day, has run 35 additional buses since Monday. Private bus operators in Kalasipalya and Majestic too are running full.
"Since Monday night, there has been an increased demand for tickets on the Bangalore-Chennai route. The five buses we run daily are filling up very quickly," a bus operator from Kalasipalyam said.
