BANGALORE: The police have solved a murder case. Four men had abducted a taxi driver and murdered him at Shivanasamudra two-and-a-half months ago. The four men have been arrested now.The police first nabbed Ravi (25), Santhosh alias Santhu (19). On interrogation, they revealed the names of their accomplices — Ramesh Poojari (27) and Raghavendra (22).
The quartet had strangled the driver, Arun (23), and threw the body in the Shivanasamudra valley.
On August 8, B P Nataraj, who owns Om Vijaya City Taxi, received a telephone call from a man who wanted to hire a taxi to Bidadi. On instructions from the caller, Nataraj sent his driver, Arun, to PES College with the car. When Arun did not return even the next day, Nataraj lodged a missing complaint.On investigation, the police zeroed in on Ravi and Santhosh. The duo was arrested and they revealed details of the murder. They admitted that they went to Shivanasamudra with Ramesh and Raghavendra. They drank heavily and also served liquor to Arun. After killing him, they threw the body in the valley and went to Karkala. However, they couldn’t dispose of the car. "They plotted the murder to make a quick buck," a police officer said.
