Prajwal Revanna raped 400 women, PM must apologise: Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi said PM Narendra Modi is now afraid of visiting Karnataka and has cancelled all his poll rallies in the state
SHIVAMOGGA/RAICHUR: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged suspended JD(S) functionary and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna had raped 400 women and recorded videos of the assaults. Calling Prajwal a mass rapist, he further accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of endorsing Prajwal by soliciting votes for him in Karnataka.
Addressing poll rallies in the district headquarters of Shivamogga and Raichur, the former AICC chief said PM Modi is now afraid of visiting Karnataka and claimed Modi had “cancelled all poll rallies in the state and escaped since then”.

“This isn’t just a simple sex scandal, it’s mass rape. Despite knowing about Prajwal’s activities, both Modi and [Union home minister] Amit Shah formed an alliance with JD(S) and sought votes for him.
The PM should apologise to the mothers and sisters of India now,” alleged the former Congress president. “This is the difference between our and their (BJP) ideology. They (BJP) can do anything for power. There is no limit. There is no truth to them. There is no meaning to the pains and sufferings of women,” he said. Rahul also demanded registration of a case against Shah, alleging that among the victims, there were minor girls below 16.
“He [Shah] was aware of the case, following a letter by a BJP functionary to him about the activities of Prajwal and his father, former minister HD Revanna. He [Shah] could have got Prajwal arrested within seconds, but allowed him to flee the country because he was the NDA candidate in the Hassan Lok Sabha,” he added. Businessman Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, also slammed the BJP govt, saying people want to know how he [Prajwal] “fled abroad so easily”.

In a Facebook post, Vadra said: “The BJP govt talks about the safety of women, but has not acted on this MP, who sexually assaulted women from all walks of life.” He alleged Modi had shared the dais with Prajwal. “The anti-women face of the BJP govt has come to the fore again and again ... People want to know how the accused escaped abroad so easily? My sympathies are with the suffering women,” he added.
