BENGALURU: The medical staff at a government hospital in Molakalmuru, Chitradurga district, Karnataka, have been facing significant challenges due to persistent power outages.

The 100-bed facility has been forced to operate under extremely difficult circumstances, with healthcare workers resorting to using "torches, mobile phone torch, and candles to examine patients."

A video showcasing the hospital's dire situation, where staff members struggle to provide care without adequate lighting, has spread rapidly on social media platforms.

The hospital management has come under fire for alleged negligence, as the backup generator has been non-functional for almost a week.

The power supply to the hospital was disrupted following a period of intense rainfall in the area.
