Pediatric trauma training for doctors

BENGALURU: The city on Monday hosted a national pediatric trauma simulation to show doctors how to manage pediatric trauma, which is still considered a challenge in the medical fraternity.

An initiative of Pediatric Simulation Training and Research Society for India (PediSTARS), in association with Rainbow Children's Hospital, on World Trauma Day, the simulathon showed how specialists have to work in a timely fashion and start treatment simultaneously on a critically injured child.

, founder-member of PediSTARS, India said: “We need great coordination among specialists; we need to get it right. Simulation is a great way for making such teamwork happen.“

The team presented the worst-case scenarios to doctors and made them understand how and what needs to be done during emergencies.
