Parameshwara will take charge tomorrow

BANGALORE: Newly-appointed state Congress chief G Parameshwara will formally take charge from out-going president R V Deshpande here on Friday.
Parameshwara, who held a meeting with party's city MLAs on Thursday said the function will be a low key one as he did not want it to be an extravagant affair. AICC general secretary Karnataka in charge Ghulam Nabi Azad is in Indonesia, while external affairs minister S M Krishna is in Tokyo.Another Union minister Mallikarjun M Kharge has a programme in Gulbarga University on the same day while Rajya Sabha deputy chairman K Rahman Khan and Union minister K H Muniyappa are expected to attend.
Parameshwara, who spent most part of Thursday meeting party leaders, including opposition party leader Siddaramaiah, said no party MLA will fall prey to the BJP's Operation Lotus, henceforth. The focus now will be to gear up for the zilla and taluk panchayat elections for which an action plan will be prepared.
