Panel on new RGUHS VC to meet today

BANGALORE: The search panel to choose the next vice-chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) will meet at 11am on Monday.
The three-member committee headed by Bangalore University's former vice-chancellor M S Thimmappa will finalize a panel of three names and submit it to governor-chancellor H R Bhardwaj. The three-year term of current VC S Ramananda Shetty ends on July 13.
Raj Bhavan, which is coordinating the VC's selection process, has sent a list of 20 contenders to the search panel.On Monday morning, more names are likely to be added. The list includes Ramananda Shetty who is up for a second term.
Several contenders facing charges of financial misappropriation have been included in the list compiled by Raj Bhavan.
Mayilvahanam Natarajan, VC of Dr MGR Medical University, Chennai, and MV Ramanamma, former director of medical education of the Andhra Pradesh government, are other members of the search panel.
