80ft Road also bore the brunt of rain fury. Mayor M Goutham Kumar told TOI, “This is the first time I’m seeing water stagnating on Indiranagar 80Ft Road for more than 24 hours. I have been staying in Cambridge Layout for over two decades, but never seen such intense rain.”

With Byarsandra lake area receiving 84 mm of rain, outlet drains leading to Kaggadasapura lake began overflowing. “The drain was originally 30 feet wide, but has shrunk to 6 feet. We had to break the concrete covers for smooth flow of water,” said Thippasandra corporator Shilpa Abhilash.
