Onat (216*), Yashwant shine

Bengaluru: Powered by Vishal Onat’s unbeaten double century, and an equally gritty century from Yashwant, Vice-President’s XI took the innings honours in their drawn game against Bangalore Zone in the KSCA SA Srinivasan memorial U-23 tournament here recently.Chasing Bangalore’s mammoth 408 all out in 88.3 overs, Vice-President’s XI found the men of the hour in Vishal and Yaswant to reply with 409/3 decalred in 81.4 overs. Vishal’s unbeaten 216 came off just 237 balls and was laced with 23 boundaries and eight hits over the ropes. Yaswant’s 106 (160 balls) contained 11 hits to the fence. Aneesh KV chipped in with 43.

Earlier, Smaran R’s 169 (184b, 14x4, 3x6) and Aashish Mahesh’s 75 was the feature of Bangalore Zone’s innings.
