bangalore: the grand old medicine man of bangalore, the 94-year-old cash pharmacy, has decided to jump on to the technology bandwagon. in an exclusive tie-up with explorebiz, the garden city's best known pharmacy will now offer over 6,000 drugs online for those who find it difficult to go to a medical shop to get the life savers. with this, the medicine is now delivered at the doorstep.
explorebiz has over the past few months tied up with a many businesses. among them have been six city theatres, the m.k. ahmed chain of stores and the gangarams bookstore. says g. rajendra prasad, managing partner of cash pharmacy, "medicines from cash pharmacy can be ordered round the clock from the online store. deliveries to any part of the city will be made within 24 hours. in fact, we will attempt to send across all orders received by noon by that evening itself." prasad feels while the platform is new, the experience will help further the reach of cash pharmacy. "in fact for the last few years for some senior citizens we have been accepting orders on the phone and asking our staffers to send it across." he adds: "payments can be made using multiple options like credit cards or even cash on delivery or the explorebiz `o' plastic corporate account. explains explorebiz md and ceo nataraj s, "we are not attempting to get into business about which we know very little. so we only provide the technology platform and ask the experts in their respective fields to expand the areas of their business on the internet. they define the parametres from there on." he states: "the approach we have followed has been very different. instead of working on the regular model of direct e-tailing, we depended on well-known brands and trusted brand suppliers to directly offer their products and services." as for the cash pharmacy tie-up prasad says, "even if a particular medicine is not available in the store, it will be procured from our vast network of suppliers and delivered to the customers." explorebiz has formatted the order forms in a unique way to ensure the prescription drugs are not abused. "we will check on the prescription while making the final delivery," prasad reiterates.
