Bengaluru: The government on Monday told the high court that there won't be coercive action against cab aggregators and drivers till further hearing of a batch of petitions filed by Uber and others. Justice Aravind Kumar adjourned the hearing to June 23.
The state had earlier declared a three-week moratorium on taking punitive action against them.

Apart from Uber, Helion Technologies Private Limited, a new operator providing a digital platform, and a cab driver have challenged the provisions of the recently introduced Karnataka On-Demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rules, 2016. In April, the government notified the new rules to ensure safety of passengers who use services offered through On Demand Transportation Technology Platforms (ODTTP).
PU grace marks row: DPUE tenders apology
The department of pre-university education (DPUE) on Monday tendered an unconditional apology before the high court in connection with granting of grace marks for out-of-syllabus questions in the II PU mathematics paper.
Advocate general Madhusudan R Naik told a division bench headed by Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee that due to misunderstanding, a wrong statement was made before the court.
Submitting an affidavit of DPUE director Ramegowda, the AG requested the court to recall the June 1 order and restore the PIL.

In his affidavit, t he director said on March 19, his predecessor had i nformed the principal secretary of the department of primary and secondary education that no grace marks will be awarded. However, on April 20, the chief examiner and deputy examiners decided to go ahead with liberal valuation. The affidavit, however, said keeping the director in the dark appeared to be a bonafide omissio n due to various factors.
On June 1, the court dismissed a PIL filed by Bhuvanajyo thi Education Trust, Moodabidri, after recording a statement on behalf of DPUE that no grace marks were awarded. According to the trust, giving grace marks would alter the rank ing of students and affect those who have written th e examination under the CBSE format.
