BENGALURU: State Congress president G Parameshwara was furious when a manager at the Indira Canteen in Ganganagar said no breakfast was left though the former reached the outlet during the prescribed time.
When several visitors at the canteen also complained about food shortage, Parameshwara immediately called the BBMP commissioner and asked him to ensure that enough food is available for breakfast and lunch at all outlets.

Parameshwara said he decided to do a random check on Indira Canteens following allegations that some outlets are distributing low quality food. To start with, he had idlis at the BEL Road outlet along with legislators Munirathna Naidu, S T Somashekar and Byrathi Basavaraj. However, when he came to Ganganagar, the vessels were empty.
“Canteen operators complained that they are getting only about 150 plates of breakfast as against the minimum supply of 300 plates. Despite bringing the problem to the notice of higher-ups, no action has been initiated. I have told commissioner to resolve the problem,” Parameshwara added.
