BENGALURU: The National Investigation Agency on Monday filed a chargesheet against 17 suspects in the IS Karnataka module case in a Bengaluru special court.

According to NIA sources, the suspects formed a group initiated by

IS

terrorists Mehboob Pasha of Bengaluru and Khaja Moideen of Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, to carry out terrorist activities in southern states.

Apart from Pasha, 48, and Khaja Moideen alias Jalal, 52, others named in the chargesheet are Abdul Samad, 29, Jafar Ali, 26, from Cuddalore; Y Thowfeek, 28, Ali Navas, 32, and Abdul Shameem, 29, from Kanyakumari; Imran Khan, 33, of Mandya, Saleem Khan alias Kolar Saleem, 27, and Mohammed Zaid, 25, from Kolar, Mohammed Haneef Khan, 30, Mohammed Mansoor Ali Khan, 33, Hussain Shariff, 33, Ejaz Pasha alias Azaz Pasha, 47, Zabiulla, 24, Syed Fasiur Rehaman, 37, and M Sadiq Basha, 41, from Bengaluru.

Suddaguntepalya police had registered a case against the gang on January 10 this year and later, it was transferred to NIA. The chargesheet has been filed under section 120B of IPC, sections 17, 18, 18A, 18B, 19, 20, 38 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and section 25(1B)(a) of Arms Act.
