New publicity gimmick for Indira Canteen: Take a selfie, win Rs 1 lakh
BENGALURU: Come August 16, the Congress-led state government's much publicized Indira Canteens are expected to become operational.
In order to generate more buzz about the low-priced canteen,
A new app developed by the BBMP provides a route map of Indira canteens and the comntest's preliminary step is downloading the app and taking a selfie in front of any nearby Indira canteen. The user then needs to send the photo with an attractive tag line. The best taglined selfie will be awarded Rs 1 lakh.
"The Kannada tagline should explain the theme/aim of the Indira canteen," sais Manoj Rajan, the BBMP's special commissioner.
The app will be available for download next week.
Around 80 canteens are ready for opening and the remaining will be up and running soon. 750 catering servers will be trained to work in the canteens August 10 onwards.
