Bangalore: The government has set up a committee headed by chief secretary Sudhakar Rao to control the spiralling prices of essential commodities.
Food and civil supplies minister Haratal Halappa said the `Essential Commodities Price Control Committee, will meet soon after election results are announced to chalk out strategy to bring down prices.
The government is planning to ban export of rice, like in Andhra Pradesh, so price of rice goes down, the minister said. But some persons have already moved court to get a stay on the proposed idea. "We will present our case to the court,'' he added.
