mysore: the three-day 35th annual conference of indian association of teacher educators (iate) will begin on friday at the karnataka state open university (ksou) here. mysore university vice chancellor prof. s.n. hegde will inaugurate the conference, jointly organised by the regional institute of education (rie) and the department of studies and research in education, ksou.
dr j.s. rajput, director, national council of educational research and training (ncert), new delhi will deliver the keynote address. ksou vice-chancellor dr n.s. rame gowda will preside. according to a release, the topic to be discussed during the conference is "school curriculum framework 2001 and its implications on teacher education." special lectures will be delivered by the heads of ncert, national institute of educational planning and administration (niepa), delhi and national open school, delhi, besides deliberations on the need to make suitable changes in teacher education to impart qualitative education. in all, 60 papers will be presented on the topic by scholars. the organisers will later shortlist some of the important papers presented at the meet and send them to the state and centre for approval and implementation.
