Nag blasts Chamber, backs Dinesh Babu

bangalore: popular actor and former minister anant nag on thursday blasted the karnataka film chamber of commerce for barring director dinesh babu from directing any film for six months and imposing a fine of rs 40,000 on the charges of `breach of trust.' speaking to newsmen on the sets of the kannada film hello narada in which he dons the role of narada, anant nag, who was annoyed over the chamber's stand, said: ``i have just two words to say.mathsarakke maddilla (there is no remedy to jealousy).'' to persistent queries, nag came out openly against the chamber and questioned the authority of the kfcc to take such an action. dinesh babu is in the eye of a storm for `failing' to direct a movie, as per agreement, for rockline venkatesh. last week, the kannada film producers' association had imposed a ban of three months and a fine of rs 25,000 on dinesh babu for the same reason. stating that dinesh babu and friends must take the matter to court, the former minister said, ``you know what name the kfcc has earned. it is not a judicial authority to punish a director or impose a fine. film chambers stands to help film business. it is not a chamber of justice.'' coming down heavily on office-bearers of the kfcc, nag said, ``who are the office-bearers there? those who have not made films have become office-bearers.'' challenging the kfcc to ``touch me,'' nag said: ``i have told my wife not to take my body to the chambers when i die. those who really love me will come home.'' nag blamed the kfcc for the closure of his brother shankar nag's sanketh studios. praising dinesh babu's film making prowess, the actor said dinesh babu can do one film at a time. ``how can he take up two projects when he cannot do them?'' he asked.
