Mysore election results 2024 live updates: BJP's Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar wins

NEW DELHI: BJP's Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar won the Mysore Lok Sabha constituency with a margin of 1,39,262 votes.

Mysore is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka, which is popular for its Mysore Palace symbolising the city's glorious past under the Wodeyar dynasty and Tipu Sultan.

The election for this constituency happened in the 2nd phase on April 26 with voter turnout of 70.62%. The Mysore Lok Sabha seat in the Vokkaliga-dominated region is set to see a battle between, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the 32-year-old scion of the former Mysore royal family, against Lakshman M of congress, an engineer turned politician.

Yaduveer has replaced the sitting MP Prathap Simha. Prathap Simha had represented this seat in both the 2019 and 2014 elections and won too. He was not happy about it. This constituency is the home turf of CM Siddaramaiah. He has been actively campaigning here.

2019 Lok Sabha Election result By securing 52.27% of the votes polled, Prathap Simha of Bhartiya Janta Party retained his seat in the 2019 general elections. Simha won against C H Vijayashankar of INC who could manage to get 41.75% the votes polled. The 2019 Parliamentary elections witnessed a voter turnout of 70.7%.
