BENGALURU: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths probing multiple cases against gangster Ravi Pujari have taken into their custody Yousuf Bachkana, a Mumbai based underworld element, from Central Prison.
Bachkana, 48, is serving life term for killing builder Subba Raju in Seshadripuram in 2001. A team led by then DCP (central) Gopal B Hosur (now retired) had arrested and chargesheeted Bachkana as the one who pulled the trigger on Raju.
CCB police suspect his involvement in other cases relating to Pujari.
“Bachkana had visited Bengaluru many times. He had strong links with a Bengaluru gangster who died recently. There are many unsolved cases and we suspect Bachkanais aware of them,” said an officer. Pujari was extradited from Senegal in South Africa in February, ending a three-decade hunt for him.
