Movie promises to tug at heartstrings

BANGALORE: The sprawling Kanteerava Studios wore a festive look on Friday with director Sai Prakash, clad in his usual khaki, greeting guests along with producer R.S. Gowda. The occasion was the launching of the film Thavarige Baa Thangi.
Thespian Rajkumar arrived with his wife Parvathamma Rajkumar, son Shivarajkumar and daughter-in-law Geetha Shivarajkumar to the bursting of crackers.There was Anu Prabhakar along with her husband Krishnakumar and mother. Aadarsha was in a jovial mood as he will be acting with Shivarajkumar for the first time. Radhika was in rural attire needed for the movie.
For Sarika Raje Urs, it was a happy occasion as she shook hands with everyone and joked around posed for photos. She has a reason to be happy. She will be acting in a movie after a gap of two years.
Sai Prakash said the story has been written by Ajay Kumar and one of the highlights is that the camera work will be important as music. The get-up of each artiste is different.
``The story is set in a village background and the film is a mixture of comedy and sentiment. After Janumada Jodi, this film is going to be a great hit.''''
For Shivarajkumar, after Muthanna, this is the movie all about the a brother-sister bond. ``All the characters are positive and even the negative characters will be positive in the movie.''''
Anu Prabhakar is happy with role. ``It is my 23rd film and the character is positive and it is a very nice role with a good heart.''''
NEW-LOOK PANDU: `Paa. Pa. Pandu,'' the popular Kannada mega serial, (ETV-Kannada) directed by Sihi Kahi Chandru, will have new characters in the coming episodes with Sundarraj acting as Shamela Bhatta, the cook, and Vikram getting married.
But Vikram has lovers __ Nanda and Kamini. Whom will he marry?
Another episode has Pandu and his family shifting to a new house which they win in a competition. But the question does Does Pandu''s life change after this?
One of the episodes will also see a reunion of the father-in-law from Mysore. The question is will the father-in-law be an emotional support to Pandu?

Artistes of the serial, produced by Finalcut Productions, celebrated the telecast of the 200th episode on Sunday by organising a cultural programme. M.S. Umesh, Srinath Vashisth, Mimikry Dayanand and others took part.
