BENGALURU: A 40-year-old homemaker allegedly poisoned her two children before ending her own life on Thursday night. This happened at her residence in Arafat Nagar, Padarayanapura, JJ Nagar, west Bengaluru.
Begum Rizwana Ahmed and her children Riyaz, 5 and Hajira, 3, were found dead by her brother-in-law Anwar on Friday morning. He had gone to give them breakfast.
"He found the door locked from inside so he peeped through the window. He saw the trio lying on the floor and called us," police said.
Rizwana's husband Zaheer Ahmed, a tailor, works in Oman. Preliminary investigations revealed that Rizwana had fed her kids food and tea laced with poison. "We have sent the samples to FSL," police added. No death note was found.
Man's body found in quarry pit A man who went missing on Monday was found dead in a quarry pit near Arabikothanur off Bangalore-Chennai national highway on Friday morning. Police suspect it is a suicide case.
Avinash Hebbale (26) was an engineer with Honda Scooters in Narasapura industrial area, Kolar district. According to cops, Avinash went missing on September 7 and a complaint was filed at the Kolar rural police station. Police couldn't locate him as his mobile phone was switched off. On Friday morning, villagers spotted the body in the pit. It was fished out and identified as that of Avinash.
