BENGALURU: The mortal remains of Chandan Kumar, a 37-year-old Indian IT professional who was shot dead in Canada, will be brought to Bengaluru on February 16, BJP MP K Sudhakar said on Friday.Kumar, a resident of Thyamagondlu in Nelamangala taluk on the outskirts of Bengaluru, was allegedly shot by unidentified assailants in the parking lot of a busy shopping centre in Toronto on February 7.

Sudhakar said the Ministry of External Affairs informed him via email that Kumar’s mortal remains would depart Toronto on February 14 and reach Bengaluru via New Delhi on February 16 at around 8:30 am.The MP also expressed gratitude to Narendra Modi, S Jaishankar, and officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Canada for facilitating the repatriation.(With agency inputs)
