official has approached the cyber crime wing of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) alleging that his former employees had stolen his company’s intellectual property. The theft came to light almost 10 months later after the company was tipped off about it from a client in the UK.

Magnasoft Consulting India assistant general manager MB Siddaramanna said Venkatesh Babu, 42, Mustak Ahmed M, 37, and Sudeep Singh Rathore, 37, quit the company between March and October last year. On the scrutiny of the company’s mail server and after holding a meeting with a customer in the UK, it was found that on five different dates (from January to September in 2018), they had stolen the data list and mailed it from the company’s email ID to their personal IDs. The data contained customers’ information, employee database, software keys and management information system reports.
