Mysuru: Minnie, 11-year-old orangutan housed in Mysuru Zoo who was diagnosed with pneumonia for the third time since Aug, is recovering from the illness. It is showing signs of recovery, the zoo stated on Friday. The ape has been quarantined and kept under round-the-clock observation at the zoo hospital, said its executive director KN Rangaswamy. Minnie's specie, a rare and endangered Bornean orangutan, is displayed in only some Indian zoos. Minnie has been suffering from respiratory issues due to recurring pneumonia. The zoo is making continuous efforts to provide her with appropriate treatment. She was imported from Malaysia's Safari Wonderland Zoo in 2021 under the international animal-exchange programme
