Ministers's gaffe: Declares Lal Krishna Advani dead

In a gaffe, union minister V Somanna on Saturday mistakenly announced the death of senior BJP functionary and former deputy PM LK Advani at a public event in Gubbi, Tumakuru, about 70km from Bengaluru. He even requested the attendees to observe a moment of silence. However, the error was soon discovered, causing embarrassment.

BJP MP Dr Manjunath made same error

BJP MP Dr CN Manjunath repeated the mistake at another event in Kunigal. Both expressed regret, blaming the social media for spreading false information and creating confusion.
