Midwife, musicologist, vocalists get Padma Shri

BENGALURU: Nine eminent individuals from Karnataka have bagged Padma awards for the year 2018. Cue sports exponent Pankaj Advani has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan, while Kannada poet and lyricist Doddarange Gowda (Art and Lyrics); Sitavva Jodatti from Belagavi and midwife Sulagitti Narasamma from Tumakuru (Social Work); R Sathyanarayan, Ibrahim Sutar, Rudrapatnam N Thyagarajan and Rudrapatnam N Tharanathan (Art & Music) and Siddeshwara Swami (Spiritualism) were chosen for the Padma Shri.
