Mandara fashions DYES, Mandya win

Bengaluru: Riding on Mandara’s heroics, DYES, Mandya, scored a lopsided 55-24 win over Beagles BC in the girls’ section of the state junior (U-18) basketball championships at the Sree Kanteerava stadium here on Monday.
Mandara (32) scored more than half the team’s total in the big victory. Sahana chipped in with 10 points. Akshiti (10) did the bulk of the scoring for the losers.
In the boys’ section, Jayanagar Sports Club prevailed in a high-scoring match (87-75) against Marians BC, Chikkamagalur.Rohit scored 32 points, while Abhai contributed 15 points. For Marians, Darshan (15) and Jacson (14) were the main scorers.
