BANGALORE: A drunken brawl turned ugly when two men, falsely claiming to be from an English daily, robbed a person of his valuables in J P Nagar police limits on Saturday.According tocomplainant Arjun Joli, a resident of Wilson Garden, he had gone to a restauranton Saturday with friends. When he came out after eating, he sat onsomebody’s motorcycle. Two men — one of them the owner of thevehicle — came out of a bar and broke into anargument.“They took me to Sarakki Gate and assaultedme,” Joli said. Later, they threatened Joli to give Rs 20,000, for whichhe called his friend and took Rs 7,000. J P Nagar police said it was a drunkenbrawl. The two parties knew each other since Joli showed the callsmade by the accused Narendra and his friends. “If they were robbers, howdid these people come to know the name and phone number of the accused? We areinvestigating to find out more about the case,” a police officersaid.TECHIE COMMITS SUICIDESubhananda, 30, a software engineerwith a telecom company, committed suicide in Hanumanthnagar police limits onSaturday.
